Cobourg is
located midway between Pickering and Belleville just minutes south
of Highway 401. To get there from the 401, take the Division Street exit south to the
third set of lights at Elgin Street. Go east on Elgin to the 4-way stop
at D'Arcy and then go right (south) on D'Arcy. The band room is on the left
(east) side just north of the railway tracks. Check the attached maps for
details.
Time:
All rehearsals are from 8:00 pm start (get there a bit early) to 10:00 pm
finish. From the first Tuesday after Labour Day in September until the last
Tuesday in June, the rehearsals are on - you guessed it - Tuedsay nights.
From the beginning of July until the start of September we perform a live concert
every Tuesday night in the Bandshell in Victoria Park (8:00 pm until after
dusk). This means that our rehearsals are shifted to Monday nights at the
bandroom for the summer. Rehearsal time remains the same - 8:00 pm to 10:00
pm. Hope to see you there!
New
Players Welcome:
The Concert Band of Cobourg has players from their teens to well past
retirement. Instrumentally we cover all sections normally arranged
for concert band and we have a wide range of skill levels. Our music
covers everything from marches to musicals and we welcome new players
who want to come out and see what we are all about. A few band instruments
are available for use but, by and large, most band members bring their
own. If you need to borrow a horn, please contact somebody on the
band executive to see if they can help. Contact information for the
band executive is available on the Home page. We enjoy our music and
we have fun getting together. Why not come out and give it a
try?
